Half way above Kitzbühel to the Bichlalm-Bahn, the Wirtshaus zum Rehkitz is situated in gentle hills – absolutely picturesque with a large garden equipped with tables and chairs in summer amongst old trees and its own inn, which is a beautiful traditional Tyrolean wooden house, including the classic round balcony. This is how you would imagine a Tyrolean inn. The garden is the cherry on top for it is perfect – a place that is simply magical. The walls of the guesthouse are covered with wood, the tables are made of light wood and all around, attached to the wall is a comfortable bench. The portions are hearty and the presentation with a certain sense of detail – the veal cream goulash with butter spaetzle, for example, is brought in a large iron pan. The Rehkitz is known for its roast with red cabbage and potato dumplings, the skin is just perfectly crispy. On the menu you will find many typical Tyrolean dishes, Schlutzkrapfen, Tafelspitz, Rostbraten with Pfifferlingen and all from predominantly regional products. Seasonal dishes such as porcini mushrooms, game dishes or asparagus are also on the menu again and again. A visit to the “Wirtshaus zum Rehkitz” is a great experience.
